Cosmonaut Comrade in SpeedRunners 2: Fan Favorite Returns
Cosmonaut Comrade returns in SpeedRunners 2, confirmed by name in the official FAQ — his original-game history, launch roster status, and unverified details.
FAQ
Is Cosmonaut Comrade in SpeedRunners 2?
Was Cosmonaut Comrade in the original SpeedRunners?
Does Cosmonaut Comrade play differently in SpeedRunners 2?
Of all the returning names in SpeedRunners 2, only three were confirmed by name before the roster renders settled it — and Cosmonaut Comrade is one of them. The official FAQ’s wording: “Falcon is returning, along with Cosmo, Buckshot, and other OG characters.”
The Official Record
- FAQ-confirmed return. Named directly in the official FAQ — one of only three returning runners confirmed by name before launch (The Falcon and Buckshot are the others).
- Fan-favorite standing. The roster overview’s tracking has long marked him a fan favorite from the original cast — and he still made the FAQ’s short list of named returns.
- Launch roster. The official press kit ships his render among the twelve launch runners — see the full roster.
A Cast of Rival Superheroes
The original SpeedRunners established the world the sequel inherits: “In a city filled with superheroes, getting to crimes becomes a competition on its own.” The sequel’s store listing keeps the premise — “rival superheroes face off in breakneck races” to save New Rush City — and Cosmonaut Comrade is exactly the kind of character that premise was built on: a retro space-race hero in a Soviet-era suit with a CCCP-style star on the helmet, racing a field of capes and frog newcomers.
The cast around him spans both eras now — originals like Moonraker and Vidna’s vampire newcomer energy, all twelve racing the same “fluid, high-skill movement system.”
What Is Not Yet Verified
- Unlock condition. Not officially documented; per-runner unlock paths will be stated once verified against the live build.
- Gameplay differences. No official source documents per-character stats. The original game was explicit that characters were largely cosmetic; treat any “Cosmo is faster” claim as unverified. What wins is movement technique — grapple swings, slides, wall jumps, slope jumps — plus smart pick-up play.
- Cosmetics. The store promises dozens of unlockable cosmetics; Cosmonaut Comrade sets are being verified.
