Starlight in SpeedRunners 2: The Pop-Star Newcomer
Starlight is a new runner in SpeedRunners 2 - a pop-star-styled heroine with no original-game history. Official render facts and what is not yet verified.

Does Starlight have different stats in SpeedRunners 2?
Starlight rounds out the launch twelve with something the returning cast can’t offer: a brand-new silhouette. A pop-star-styled heroine — visor, beaded braid, stage presence — confirmed for SpeedRunners 2 by an official press-kit render and absent from everything the original game ever shipped.
The Official Record
- Launch roster. The official press kit (tinyBuild / Fair Play Labs, via speedrunners.com) ships Starlight’s render among the twelve launch runners — see the full roster.
- New to the sequel. The original game’s roster records — which document every runner from SpeedRunner to Salem — contain no Starlight. tinyBuild’s launch promotions spotlight the character among the sequel’s “new & returning” faces.
- Design language. The render reads pop idol rather than pulp superhero: a long braid, a visor, and a white-and-gold stage outfit that fits the sequel’s 1960s retrofuturism.
The Third New Face
Before launch, the officially named newcomers were two: Dart, the frog runner, and Vidna, the vampire revealed days before release. The press kit’s twelve reveals a third — Starlight — a character with no original-game past to draw on, which in a roster full of returns makes the newcomer role stand out even more. The developers have said “there will be new characters, too,” with updates every one to two months; Starlight suggests the launch cast already took that seriously.
What Is Not Yet Verified
- Unlock condition. Not officially documented. Whether Starlight is starter or unlock will be stated here once verified against the live build.
- Gameplay identity. Pop-star theme aside, no official source gives Starlight unique stats, speed, or abilities. The original game treated characters as largely cosmetic — until an official source says otherwise, assume the same here.
- Cosmetics. SpeedRunners 2 promises dozens of unlockable cosmetics; Starlight-specific sets and their unlock paths are being verified.
