FAQ

What is the Moon map in SpeedRunners 2?
One of the three brand-new maps officially named for the sequel launch — tinyBuild listed Museum, Moon, and Forest as the three new maps. Like every launch map it ships with two layouts within the official sixteen-layout launch set.
Is the Moon map low-gravity?
Not officially confirmed. The name invites the assumption, but no official source describes a gravity change or any unique mechanic for Moon. Jump and grapple physics behave by the standard movement rules until an official source or live-build verification says otherwise.
How many layouts does the Moon map have?
Two. The official feature list counts sixteen map layouts across the eight launch maps — each map, Moon included, has an A and B configuration of the same terrain with different routes and pick-up placement.

Some map pages write themselves — Museum arrived with a hidden achievement attached, Forest with an origin story. Moon arrived with a name and a sentence. This page is exactly as long as the truth.

The Official Record

  • Brand-new for the sequel. Moon is one of the “3 brand new maps: Museum, Moon, and Forest” — tinyBuild’s launch list, the whole of it.
  • Two layouts. The launch set is eight maps, sixteen layouts (official feature list) — Moon’s A and B configurations re-route the same terrain with different lever routes and pick-up seeds.
  • That is the record. No official source yet describes Moon’s mechanics, theme details or hazards. Anything beyond the two bullets above is assumption — including the obvious one:

How to Race a Map You Know Nothing About

The honest playbook for Moon (or any layout you have not burned into memory) is the system playbook — the six mechanics every map is assembled from:

  1. First lap: read the ceilings. Where the blue-grapple sections hang tells you where the aerial line lives.
  2. Second lap: follow the pads. Booster strips mark the intended racing line — string them before you improvise.
  3. Watch the levers. Whoever flips a lever chooses your route; know both outcomes before you rely on either.
  4. Check which layout loaded. A and B are different races — the confidence that kills you on lap two is layout-blind confidence.
  5. Practice offline. Bot races on both configurations are the fastest way to make an unfamiliar map familiar (see the beginner routine).

Why This Page Is Short

Because a wiki’s job is to be right, not long. Moon’s mechanic documentation lands here as the live build is verified — and when the one-to-two-month update cadence brings new maps (the official FAQ promises more, including Workshop adaptations), this page links its siblings rather than guessing ahead of them.
