Museum Map in SpeedRunners 2: Layouts, Secrets and Museum Heist
Museum is one of SpeedRunners 2’s three brand-new launch maps — and the only one with a hidden achievement named after it. Layouts, secrets and what is verified.
FAQ
Is Museum a new map in SpeedRunners 2?
What is the hidden gem in the Museum B layout?
What is the Museum Heist achievement?
Every launch roster has one map the community adopts first — the one with a secret worth arguing about. For SpeedRunners 2, twelve days in, that map is Museum.
The Official Record
- Brand-new for the sequel. Museum is one of the “3 brand new maps: Museum, Moon, and Forest” — tinyBuild’s own list, quoted on our all-maps overview.
- Two layouts, like every launch map. Eight maps, sixteen layouts total (the official feature list says “16 map layouts with unique challenges”). Museum’s A and B configurations re-route the same terrain — the levers, the pick-up seeds, and the fast lines differ between them.
- A hidden achievement carries its name. Museum Heist is one of the four achievements Steam hides until earned — and Steam’s achievement data carries a per-map secret achievement entry for Museum (2.4% of players have it as of September 18, 2026). The map was built with a secret in mind.
The Gem in Layout B (Community-Documented)
Players have found a hidden gem in the Museum B layout — an off-line collectible you can pick up mid-race. The community state of play:
- The gem is real and collectible — multiple player reports.
- What it does is the open question: early reports say collecting it produces no visible reward, which is exactly what a hidden-achievement trigger looks like from the inside.
- The natural hypothesis — gem in Museum B feeds Museum Heist — is a community connection, not an official statement. We label it as such. The secret achievements guide keeps the four-map picture in one place.
Racing the Museum
What the map system means here specifically is being verified against the live build — but the six-mechanic vocabulary every map is built from tells you what to look for on your first laps:
- Interior verticality. A museum is walls, display cases and atrium height — the natural home of wall-jump shafts and grapple lines over the exhibit floor.
- Tight object density. Exhibit-filled rooms are chokes: slides and low lines through case-lined corridors, Traps placed where dodging room dies.
- Two layouts, two plans. Check which configuration loaded before you trust your memorized line — the B layout is a different race wearing the same walls (and, currently, the only one with the gem).
What Is Not Yet Verified
- The exact mechanic mix (which sections carry blue ceilings, lever behavior per layout) — being documented against the live build rather than guessed here.
- The Museum Heist unlock condition.
- Whether the gem respawns, and whether anything else in either layout is collectible.
